Eva Calani

Eva was born in Campi Salentina in 1991, in the province of Lecce. Raised in a family of artists, her father a dancer and her mother a ballet teacher, she started dancing as a child. And she never stopped. She trained at the EIDOS Dance Studies Center in Reggio Emilia, studying classical, modern and hip hop dance. Between 2000 and 2010 he participated in many competitions and workshops, perfecting himself with some of the most important masters and choreographers in Europe including: Monique Loudieres, Mauro Bigonzetti, Vladimir Derevianko, Elisabetta Terabust, Cristina Bozzolini, Marika Besobrasova, Bradley Shelver , Rolando D'Alesio, Fabrizio Monteverde, Kris, Paul Chalmer, Susan Sandler and many others. In 2010 she passed the auditions for two of the most prestigious schools in Europe, the London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) and the Codarts Rotterdam Dance Academy in the Netherlands, choosing to attend the second-only university of dance in Europe - where she deepens various techniques: ballet, Cunningham, Limon, Laban, Graham, Pilates; and also the history of dance, nutrition, acting, anatomy, improvisation. During the 4 years of university he studied with: Ann Van Tol, Keith Derrick Randolph, Mario Camacho, Antien van Mierlo, Luise Frank, Ben Bergmans, Annemieke Wijers, Sanja Maier-Hasagic, Sun Xiao, Regina van Berkel, Samir Calixto, Michele Pogliani, Iker Arrue, Jan Linkens, Brigitte Martin, Ty Bommershine and Amy Raymond. She has danced choreographies by Christopher Tandy, Hans van Manen, Jiri Kylian, Neel Verdoorn, Itamar Serussi Sahar and Ed Wubbe. She and she 'was selected among the students of Codarts to take part in the "One of a kind" lectorate directed by Jiri Kylian, where she danced in "Dance and Film" and "Dance and Costume" in choreography by Kylian himself and by Michael Schumacher. In the 2013-2014 season she was an intern at the Tanz Luzerner Theater company in Switzerland directed by Kathleen McNurney where she participated in various choreographed productions by Stijn Celis, Kingsun Chan and Lukas Timulak. She also danced and choreographed for the DanceMakers 5 production.
